Its hard. You don’t think it is, but trust me. My family and I have decided to rent our house for the year. To do so you need to have every little thing* packed up from the towels, that you take for granted to the thumbtacks on the wall (that you never notice). As I mentioned before, I have never moved out of a house and our family (mostly my moms side) likes collectibles. So, imagine 20 years worth of collectibles (pictures, figurines, nice plates , etc.) in one house that has to be packed up in under 4 months. 3 1/2 months full of school and work giving little time to pack up the house. After school ended we went on a annual trip to Tybee Island ,Georgia, we always go and were not about to break the tradition to pack. That trip ended on the 19th so we had about 10ish days to pack up our house. Saying 10 days to pack up house does no connect the dots for many people.
Connecting the Dots
To connect those dots sometimes I will say imagine yourself hanging off a cliff that is a good 150ft+ then you put of a 50 pound backpack and another and another until you are struggling to hold on, finally theirs a strong wind trying to sweep you into the dark abyss of procrastination. Its hard not to give in to the comforting feeling of the abyss. And on top of that you need to help manage daily task and remember to do things like brush you teeth and eat when you get hungry. After all of that I still think that its hard to “connect the dots” until you yourself experiment the liberation, the stress and the anxiety that comes along with it. So what I would say is start when you think its to early to start, so you can go through things slowly and at your own pace without having to rush decisions because that when things go wrong.
